01

Removal and the condition check

The old room is removed, services are isolated and walls and floors are inspected. A straightforward room moves on quickly; hidden damage needs to be agreed and repaired first.

02

First fix and preparation

Plumbing, electrics, ventilation, framing, boarding and waterproofing happen before the finish. Some materials need drying time that should be allowed rather than rushed.

03

Finishes and final fitting

Tile or panels, flooring, furniture, sanitaryware, taps, shower glass and accessories are fitted in a practical order. Testing, sealing and cleaning complete the handover.

What to remember

Ask for a stage-by-stage programme and make sure all key products are checked before the old bathroom comes out.
